Nicol House

Interior Renovation & Landscape_Taman Bukit Pantai, Bangsar_Completed 2017.

This project reimagines a previously extended period residence in Bangsar, adapting it to the lifestyle of its new occupants while working within the existing building envelope.

The renovation introduces a palette of natural materials and warm finishes, softening the previously austere interiors and bringing colour, texture, and light into the home. Spatial openings were carefully reconsidered to establish a stronger dialogue between interior and exterior, allowing the house to engage more directly with its garden setting.

Outside, a sequence of intimate outdoor rooms extends the living spaces into the landscape. These areas remain interconnected while maintaining distinct functions. A new, dark-tiled swimming pool anchors the garden. Its reflective surface mirroring the surrounding greenery, reinforcing the relationship between architecture and nature.
